Daniel McLaughlin

DANIEL M. McLAUGHLIN, is a partner of the law firm of Hammond and Shinners, P.C. Before joining the firm in August 2022, he was a former member of the Plumbers’ & Pipefitters’ Local Union No. 562 and began practicing law in  2000.  Dan provides general counseling to health & welfare funds as well as pension funds and various other jointly trusteed labor-management funds in areas of ERISA compliance, ERISA litigation, delinquency collections, and subrogation.  Dan also provides general consultation to labor organizations and its members in all matters relative to their rights and duties under the NLRA and LMRA with a focus on contract negotiations, representation of the local and its members in grievance hearings, arbitrations, and litigation.  In addition, Dan focuses on the representation of political subdivisions in areas ranging from general consultation in all aspects of Section 321 RSMo to the drafting of ordinances and resolutions, drafting of contracts for services and personnel matters.

EDUCATION

Mr. McLaughlin graduated from Quincy University in 1994 and went to law school at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, School of Law graduating in 2000.

Mr. McLaughlin is licensed to practice in the States of Missouri and Illinois and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Southern and Central Districts of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits.
